Renewing a vehicle registration in Denmark involves updating the vehicle's records with the national transport authority if there is a change in ownership or usage status. Your timing

While standard registrations do not have an annual expiration date, it is common to initiate registration changes immediately upon acquiring a new vehicle or transferring ownership. Processing times for new registration certificates can vary, so applicants should complete these procedures well before attempting to use the vehicle on public roads.

This accounts for the postal delivery time of the new registration certificate (registreringsattest) once the application has been processed by the agency.

The process
