Duratum is built so that we hold as little of you as possible. Here is exactly what happens.
Your document image
When you photograph or upload a document, it is sent over an encrypted connection, held in memory only while the date is read, and then discarded. It is never written to disk, never placed in storage, and never attached to you. There is no copy for us to lose.
What we take from it
Only what a list of renewals needs: the kind of document, the country that issued it, the printed expiry date, and — where it's relevant to renewing — who issued it and what it costs a year. Never your name, your photograph, your document number, your address or your date of birth. If a date isn't printed on the document, we say so rather than guessing one.
Your list
Your documents are stored in your own browser. Clear your browser data and they're gone. We can't see them unless you turn on reminders.
If you turn on reminders
We store your email address, and for each document the type, country and expiry date — that's all — so we can email you in time. There is no password; a private token in your link is the key to your own list, so keep that link to yourself. Ask us and we'll delete the lot.
Cookies and tracking
Duratum sets no cookies at all — no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party trackers. That's why you'll never see a consent banner here. Your list is held in your browser's own local storage, which is what makes the app work and is never sent anywhere unless you turn on reminders. We do count anonymous events — a document added, a scan attempted, reminders switched on — with no identifier, no IP address and nothing about the document itself.
Comparison partners
Where a renewal means buying something — insurance, energy, broadband — we may show one comparison partner and earn a commission if you switch. We tell the partner nothing about you. Following the link is a normal visit to their site; what they collect there is covered by their own policy.
