The process
- 1Check the current expiry date of the vehicle registration and road tax.
- 2For vehicles older than 7 years (cars) or 5 years (motorcycles), or vehicles with engine sizes exceeding specific thresholds, a mandatory annual vehicle inspection (ตรอ. - Tor Ror Or) is required at an authorized inspection center.
- 3Gather the necessary documents, including the vehicle registration book (เล่มทะเบียน - lem tabian) and proof of compulsory motor insurance (พ.ร.บ. - Por Ror Bor).
- 4Pay the annual road tax (ภาษีรถยนต์ประจำปี - pah see rot yon pra jam pee) at a Department of Land Transport office, post office, authorized inspection center, or via the DLT online service (where available).
- 5Receive the new road tax sticker (ป้ายภาษี - pai pah see) to display on the vehicle and an updated entry in the vehicle registration book.
