The process typically requires submitting an application either in person at a local service center or through specified digital government portals.

Your timing

It is generally recommended to initiate the renewal process at least 30 days before the card's expiration. This accounts for potential appointment scheduling backlogs at registration centers and the standard processing time for printing and chip encoding.

The process
