Renewing a vehicle inspection certificate in Uganda typically involves taking the vehicle to an authorized inspection center for a thorough check to ensure it meets roadworthiness standards. Upon successful inspection, a new certificate is issued.

Your timing

It is generally advisable for vehicle owners to initiate the renewal process a few weeks before the current certificate's expiry date. This allows ample time to schedule an inspection appointment, address any potential issues identified during the inspection, and avoid driving with an expired certificate, which can lead to penalties.

Start 14 days ahead

This accounts for potential booking lead times at inspection centers and time to rectify any minor issues identified during the inspection before re-presenting the vehicle.

The process
