Most vehicles require regular technical inspections, typically annually. It is advisable to schedule the inspection a few weeks before the current one expires, especially during peak periods, to allow ample time for an appointment and any potential repairs that might be needed after the assessment.

The process
- 1Locate an authorized 'Stacja Kontroli Pojazdów' (Vehicle Inspection Station). These stations are typically private businesses authorized to perform official technical inspections.
- 2Schedule an appointment or arrive during operating hours. While appointments are not always mandatory, they can reduce waiting times.
- 3Present the vehicle's registration certificate (dowód rejestracyjny) and, if applicable, the previous inspection certificate.
- 4The vehicle will undergo a detailed technical inspection, covering aspects such as brakes, lighting, suspension, steering, exhaust emissions, and general condition.
- 5Upon successful completion, the diagnostic technician will issue a certificate of technical inspection and stamp the vehicle's registration certificate. If deficiencies are found, a re-inspection will be required after repairs.
- 6The data from the inspection is entered into the Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers (CEPiK) system.
