Passport renewal in Guinea

Written from published rules on 28 August 2026. Not monitored for changes since. A starting point, not official advice — confirm anything that matters with Direction Centrale de la Police de l’Air et des Frontières (Central Directorate of Air and Border Police).

Renewing a Guinean passport involves submitting an application through the official passport portal and attending an in-person appointment for biometric data capture. Applicants must provide proof of identity and citizenship to update their travel document.

Your timing

It is generally recommended to initiate the renewal process at least 3 to 6 months before the expiration date. This accounts for potential delays in administrative processing, appointment availability at service centers, and the production of the biometric booklet.

Start 90 days ahead

Processing times can fluctuate based on the volume of applications and the availability of materials for biometric passports.

The process

  1. 1Register and complete the online application form on the official government passport portal.
  2. 2Pay the required processing fee through the designated electronic payment methods.
  3. 3Schedule an appointment for the biometric enrollment phase.
  4. 4Attend the appointment in person to have fingerprints, digital signature, and photograph captured.
  5. 5Receive notification when the passport is ready for collection at the designated office.

What commonly goes wrong

  • Ensure all personal details entered online exactly match the information on your birth certificate.
  • Keep all printed receipts from the payment process as they are required during the biometric appointment.
  • Check the official portal regularly for status updates, as notification methods can vary.
